Sous-vide, yay or nay?

So as most you already know that Amazon Prime Day is like the new Black Friday. I decided to look for deals for my kitchen. I was happy to see that a “Sous-Vide” was featured as a deal. I struggled with the decision all day, researching the cooking method online. After multiple videos, texts with my husband and others I knew owned one, I bit the bullet and added it to my cart. You do have to invest in a food sealer and bags so keep that in mind. Sous-vide is becoming very popular for professional chefs to make large batches of food ahead of time and to ensure perfect cooking temperatures. Tonight we decided to make two different cuts of steak. I download the app to look at time and temperatures for medium rare steaks. It’s pretty easy and did cook a delicious steak. It did take an hour to cut cook plus 90 seconds on each side in a cast iron skillet. But I did take the hour to prep and cook my sides, clean up the kitchen and set the table. I’m looking forward to trying shrimp and other seafood because it’s so easy to over cook them. I’m also curious about desserts. Do you own a sous-vide? I’d love to hear what you make with it!
